Native Gold Crystals

Lecanvey ‘B’ Vein,

Croagh Patrick,

County Mayo,

Ireland

This is a lovely specimen of white quartz matrix and minor grey sulphide with beautiful bright golden clusters of native gold crystals.

The specimen comes from an exploratory vein dug on the side of Croagh Patrick mountain. However, due to the religious significance of the mountain to Irelands Roman Catholic population there is unlikely to be a further development of this gold locality.
