I have just taken delivery of a selection of delightful miniature sized fluorite specimens from the Newlandside Quarry, a classic English fluorite locality in the famous Weardale area of County Durham.
The specimens display an interesting diversity of colours from light green through violets to almost dark brown. Penetration twinned crystals are common and the specimens display the characteristic Weardale, bright daylight fluorescence. Many also show the unusual internal cloudiness that is again associated with Weardale fluorite.
The specimens will be appearing on this site and by eBay Shop very soon, but here are a few photos that will give you some idea of what to expect.
